APC Woos Senator Hanga, Says Kwankwaso Sidelined Longtime Ally

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has intensified efforts to persuade Senator Rufai Sani Hanga to join the ruling party, claiming that the former lawmaker was sidelined and humiliated by the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The appeal was made by the APC Chairman in Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, during a political gathering where he addressed Senator Hanga and other supporters.

According to Abbas, Hanga remained loyal to Kwankwaso over the years and made significant political sacrifices but did not receive the recognition or treatment he deserved within the movement. He alleged that the former senator had been repeatedly sidelined despite his contributions.

The APC chairman urged Hanga to consider joining the ruling party, assuring him of respect, inclusion and opportunities to contribute to Kano’s political development.

He maintained that the APC remains open to leaders from other political platforms who are willing to work towards the party’s objectives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development comes amid growing political realignments in Kano State as parties continue consultations and strategic engagements ahead of the next election cycle.
