Kano Government Donates ₦1m, Food Items to Family of Slain Police Officer
The Kano State Government has donated ₦1 million and relief materials to the family of late Inspector Sani Haladu, a police officer who lost his life in the line of duty.
The presentation was made at the Kano State Police Command Headquarters on behalf of the state government by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Mohammed Tajo Othman. The gesture followed the death of Inspector Haladu, who was killed while carrying out his official duties on March 27, 2026.
The support package included a cash donation of ₦1 million, five bags of rice, six bags of spaghetti, six bags of macaroni and two 25-litre jerry cans of vegetable oil.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Operations, Lawal Isa Mani, thanked the Kano State Government for the gesture.
Mani described the late Inspector Haladu as a dedicated and gallant officer who served the command and the people of Kano with commitment until his death.
He said the intervention reflects the cordial relationship between the Kano State Government and the Nigeria Police Force, adding that such support would boost the morale of serving officers by assuring them that their sacrifices are recognised and appreciated.
The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the support, reaffirming the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state’s 44 local government areas.
He further assured the bereaved family of the command’s continued support while urging officers and men of the command to remain professional, dedicated and steadfast in the discharge of their duties.
