Kano Fire Service Saves 34 Lives, Protects Property Worth ₦437m in May

The Kano State Fire Service says it rescued 34 persons and saved property valued at approximately ₦437 million from various fire and emergency incidents recorded across the state in May 2026.

The service disclosed this in its monthly operational report, highlighting its continued efforts to protect lives and property through prompt emergency response and rescue operations.

According to the report, firefighters responded to multiple incidents during the month, successfully rescuing victims and preventing the destruction of valuable assets.

The agency noted that its personnel remained committed to ensuring public safety through timely intervention in fire outbreaks and other emergencies.

It also urged residents to adopt preventive safety measures, including proper handling of electrical appliances, cooking gas, and other potential fire hazards, to reduce the occurrence of fire incidents.

The service reiterated its commitment to strengthening emergency response capacity and enhancing public awareness on fire prevention across Kano State.

Authorities further called on members of the public to promptly report emergencies to enable swift response and minimize losses.
