APC Chairman Nentawe Meets Senator Hanga, Calls for Unity and Political Dialogue

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has met with Senator Rufai Sani Hanga of Kano State, saying their discussions focused on promoting unity, peace and the future of Kano and Nigeria.

Yilwatda disclosed details of the meeting in a post on his official X account on Thursday, describing the visit to the Kano Central senator as a courtesy call.

According to the APC chairman, the meeting centred on strengthening peace, stability and constructive engagement among political leaders, irrespective of party affiliation.

“Today, I paid a courtesy visit to Senator Rufai Hanga, one of the leading stalwarts of the NDC in Kano State. Our discussions were cordial and focused on the unity, peace, stability, and future of Kano State,” Yilwatda wrote.

He said political leaders share a collective responsibility to promote peace, strengthen democratic values and place the welfare of citizens above partisan interests.

Yilwatda added that Nigeria’s progress would be better served through dialogue, mutual understanding and collaboration across political divides, expressing optimism that such engagements would contribute to a more united and prosperous Kano State and the country.

The meeting comes days after a delegation of APC leaders in Kano visited Senator Hanga and appealed to him to join the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Senator Hanga has not publicly commented on the latest meeting or indicated any decision regarding his political future.
