Kano, Feb. 14, 2025 — Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has flagged off the distribution of 54,600 bags of rice to residents across Kano State as part of efforts to cushion hardship during the Ramadan period.

The flag-off ceremony took place at Maganda Road in Kano.

Speaking at the event, the governor described the exercise as an annual intervention designed to support residents during the holy month of Ramadan (1447 AH).

According to him, the distribution will cover all 44 local government areas of the state, alongside other selected beneficiaries.

Governor Yusuf disclosed that 91 trucks of rice, equivalent to 54,600 bags of 50kg each, have been approved for distribution. He stated that 44 trucks would be allocated directly to the 44 local government areas, while the remaining 47 trucks would be distributed to selected groups and individuals across the state.
