Kano Govt Approves Automatic Employment for Indigene Doctors Working Outside the State
The Kano State Government has approved automatic employment for qualified medical doctors of Kano origin currently working in neighbouring states, allowing them to return and serve in the state’s secondary health facilities.
The approval was granted by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery across the state.
According to the announcement, the state government has fully implemented the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) in line with the Federal Government standard. The offer also guarantees continuity on the same grade level previously attained by the doctors with their former employers.
The government further stated that eligible doctors will have access to the Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF), as well as opportunities for in-house residency training in selected specialties. These include Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The announcement added that additional incentives would be introduced in due course.
Qualified doctors were directed to report immediately to the Kano State Hospitals Management Board Headquarters for documentation and absorption into the state health system.
