Kano State Strengthens Security with Multi-Billion Allocations

Kano State Government has taken decisive steps to strengthen security across the state, approving multi-billion naira allocations to enhance safety, surveillance, and rapid response capabilities. The approvals came during the 34th meeting of the Kano State Executive Council held at Government House, Kano, on Thursday, 27th November 2025.

According to the Council, N2.76 billion has been earmarked for the procurement of modern security equipment, N1.29 billion for the supply and installation of automated surveillance systems at the Governor’s Wing, and N1 billion for the establishment of an Emergency Operation Centre at Government House. These investments are aimed at improving intelligence-led policing, ensuring rapid responses to threats, and strengthening collaboration with federal security agencies.

The Council expressed concern over recent inflammatory statements by some political figures, which it described as potentially destabilizing. Officials emphasized that these allocations are part of a broader strategy to maintain law and order, secure border communities, and protect residents across all 44 local government areas.

State authorities reassured citizens that the funds will be closely monitored to ensure effectiveness and transparency, reinforcing the government’s commitment to peace, stability, and the protection of lives and property.

Through these multi-billion naira investments, Kano State is demonstrating a proactive and sustained approach to security, ensuring that public safety remains a top priority for the administration.
