Gov. Yusuf Condoles Zahra Allalai’s Family, Meets JTF Troops Over Rising Bandit Attacks in Tsanyawa

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has visited the family of the late Zahra Allalai, who was killed by bandits during the recent attack on Kamaye Village in Tsanyawa Local Government Area. The violent incident also resulted in several residents being abducted.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor described Zahra’s death as a painful loss to her family, the community, and the entire state. He prayed for Allah to grant her eternal rest and give the family the strength to endure the tragedy.

After the condolence visit, Governor Yusuf proceeded to meet with Joint Task Force (JTF) troops stationed across Tsanyawa and Shanono LGAs. The governor received detailed briefings on recent operations and assessed ongoing security deployments in the affected areas.

At the Forward Operating Base in Faruruwa, Commander of 3 Brigade, Brigadier General A.M. Tukur, briefed the governor on encounters with armed groups. He highlighted the November 1 ambush that led to the loss of two soldiers and a vigilante, as well as the destruction of two military gun trucks. General Tukur explained that although bandits have moved deeper into border communities, security personnel remain committed to protecting residents and eliminating threats.

Governor Yusuf expressed deep concern over the rising attacks, especially the killing of Zahra Allalai and the abductions in Tsanyawa. He said that bandits were increasingly infiltrating communities, rustling cattle, and kidnapping residents, but added that the presence of the JTF had already started improving the situation.

The governor also revealed that he had briefed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the security challenges. According to him, the President directed the Chief of Army Staff to send reinforcements, including more personnel and equipment, to strengthen ongoing operations.

“We will support you in whichever way necessary to neutralise this cancer,” Governor Yusuf assured the troops.

He also addressed residents of Tsanyawa, pledging that the state government will not relent until all abducted victims are reunited with their families. He acknowledged that these security challenges are new to Kano, but stressed that the government is determined to overcome them.

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing logistics, welfare, and operational support to security agencies while assuring residents that no affected community will be abandoned.
