Kwankwasiyya Twitter Guild Rebrands as Gida-Gida Twitter Guild, Joins APC With Gov. Yusuf

Members of the former Kwankwasiyya Twitter Guild (KTG) have announced a change of name to Gida-Gida Twitter Guild (GTG) and declared their alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC), following Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s recent defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The group made the announcement in a statement, describing the rebranding as a reflection of its support for the governor’s leadership and political direction in Kano State.

According to the statement, Governor Yusuf has maintained engagement with the group since 2018, particularly in the new media space. The group said this engagement had been sustained and inclusive over the years.

Following the inauguration of the current administration, members of the Guild were appointed into various positions within government. These included one Special Adviser, two Senior Special Assistants, two Special Senior Reporters, one Special Reporter, and one Personal Assistant. Other members, the group said, were also engaged in different official assignments.

The statement noted that at every stage where opportunities or support were provided, members of the Guild were included collectively.

With Governor Yusuf’s move to the APC, the group said it has chosen to follow the same political path, expressing confidence in the new alignment.

The Gida-Gida Twitter Guild added that it would continue to participate in conversations around governance and amplify government activities in Kano State.
