KSHC Warns Public Against Illegal Land Sales in Madinawa, Gurjiya Area

Kano, Feb. 7, 2026 — The Kano State Housing Corporation (KSHC) has warned members of the public against engaging in any land transactions at Madinawa, Gurjiya area of Dawakin Kudu Local Government, behind Amana City, describing ongoing activities in the area as illegal encroachment on government-owned land.

The corporation said some individuals have unlawfully invaded the land, which belongs to the Kano State Government and is under the custody of KSHC, and are illegally demarcating plots, creating unauthorized layouts, and selling them to unsuspecting members of the public.

KSHC described the actions as fraudulent, criminal, and punishable under the law, stressing that no individual, group, or agent has been authorized to sell, allocate, or transact any portion of the land.

The corporation cautioned the public to desist from buying, selling, negotiating, or patronizing any form of land transaction in the area, warning that anyone found to have encroached on the land or involved in illegal dealings would face the full consequences of the law.

It further stated that the government, through KSHC, would not hesitate to take decisive legal action to protect public property, including the demolition of illegal structures and prosecution of offenders.

KSHC also advised members of the public to always verify land ownership and authenticity directly with the corporation before entering into any land transaction, in order to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
