Kano Police Recover Stolen Hilux from Deputy Governor’s Convoy, Arrest Government Driver | Kano First Media

KANO, NIGERIA (November 12, 2025) — The Kano State Police Command has successfully recovered the Toyota Hilux vehicle that was stolen from the convoy of the Kano State Deputy Governor, following a coordinated intelligence operation by security operatives.

According to official reports obtained by Kano First Media, the vehicle was traced and recovered in the early hours of Wednesday after a swift response by law enforcement agencies. A permanent and pensionable driver attached to the Kano State Government has been arrested in connection with the theft and is currently assisting the Police in their ongoing investigation.

In a statement released by the Office of the Deputy Governor, the theft was described as a serious breach of trust by the arrested staff. The office also commended the Kano State Police Command for its professionalism, speed, and effective collaboration with other security agencies that led to the recovery.

“This incident represents a clear breach of trust. We commend the Police for their prompt intervention and assure the public that due process will be followed,” the statement read.

The Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed its commitment to the security of lives and property within and beyond the Government House. Citizens have been urged to remain calm and continue cooperating with the Police as investigations continue.
