Kano Intensifies Joint Security Operations as President Tinubu Deploys Special Team

The Kano State Government has intensified joint security operations across vulnerable communities as part of renewed efforts to combat bandit activities and restore peace across the state.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf confirmed that he had met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to brief him on the escalating security concerns affecting parts of Kano. According to him, the President acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and immediately ordered the deployment of a specialised security team to support ongoing operations.

Governor Yusuf explained that arrangements are underway to strengthen mobility, improve logistics, and provide the operational support required by security agencies to respond more effectively to bandit threats. He noted that these measures are designed to enhance rapid response, improve surveillance, and reinforce security presence in high-risk communities.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every community in the state enjoys full protection. He instructed security operatives to maintain vigilance, intensify intelligence gathering, and collaborate closely with local residents to identify suspicious movements and prevent attacks.

He emphasized that community-driven intelligence remains one of the most reliable tools in confronting banditry and improving early detection of threats.

Governor Yusuf assured residents that the combined security measures—supported by additional deployments, improved inter-agency coordination, and enhanced mobility—will continue until peace is fully restored across all affected areas.
