The Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Engr. Dr. Gaddafi Sani Shehu, disclosed that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved a negotiated settlement covering all outstanding claims arising from the project.

According to the commissioner, the settlement involves the payment of compensation amounting to billions of naira to affected claimants, alongside the allocation of plots of land to all 750 individuals and households involved in the dispute.

He said the approval reflects the government’s commitment to resolving critical governance challenges while prioritizing the welfare of affected citizens.

Dr. Gaddafi Sani Shehu also acknowledged the support of the Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar, for his role and cooperation in achieving the breakthrough.

The resolution is expected to pave the way for the completion of the TCN transmission line, a development anticipated to enhance power supply and support economic activities across the state.

The commissioner further advised members of the public to avoid constructing buildings close to high-voltage power lines in order to safeguard lives and property.
