Kano Executive Council Approves PPP Policy, Manual for Immediate Implementation

The Kano State Executive Council has approved the Kano State Public–Private Partnership (PPP) Policy and PPP Manual for immediate implementation.

The approval was announced following an Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. The policy and manual are intended to provide a structured framework for the identification, structuring, procurement, and management of public-private partnership projects in the state.

According to the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (Kan-Invest), Muhammad Nazir Halliru, the newly approved framework establishes clear and predictable procedures for PPP projects and places Kan-Invest at the centre of coordination between the government and private sector partners.

He explained that the policy is designed to strengthen institutional clarity, reduce risks, enhance transparency, and improve accountability in project delivery, with the overall objective of boosting investor confidence.

The approval aligns with the state government’s plan to encourage private sector participation in infrastructure development, address existing infrastructure gaps, and promote long-term economic sustainability across key sectors.
