Gov. Yusuf Sets Up Special Task Force to Secure Kano Motor Parks, Public Spaces

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the immediate establishment of a Special Task Force to address security threats at motor parks and other strategic public spaces across the state.

The decision reflects the administration’s resolve to prevent criminal infiltration and strengthen security, particularly at key entry and exit points within the Kano metropolitan area.

Motor parks have been identified as high-risk locations due to heavy human movement and recent security developments, including the arrest of suspected miscreants at the Kofar Ruwa Motor Park.

According to the directive, the task force will carry out intensive surveillance, intelligence gathering, and coordinated security operations at motor parks and other vulnerable locations. Its mandate will also cover ancillary areas such as filling stations and public spaces where transient populations frequently gather.

Governor Yusuf described the move as a proactive measure aimed at neutralising security threats before they escalate, improving inter-agency coordination, and restoring public confidence.

He reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on criminal activities and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing full support to security agencies in the protection of lives and property across Kano State.
