Emir Sanusi Urges Cultural Renaissance in Kano, Applauds Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Support for KANFEST 2025 | KanoFirst Media

His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has called for a cultural renaissance in Kano State, urging sustained efforts to revive and preserve the city’s centuries-old traditions.

The Emir made the call while commending Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Kano State Government for their unwavering support toward the successful hosting of the Kano Cultural and Arts Festival (KANFEST 2025) — an event aimed at promoting creativity, tourism, and cultural diversity. Emir Sanusi described KANFEST as a landmark initiative that reflects the resilience, dignity, and cultural pride of the Kano people. He emphasized that culture remains a vital pillar for unity, moral identity, and economic growth.

“Our culture is our identity. It defines who we are and where we come from. Preserving it is not just about entertainment, but about strengthening our values, our youth, and our sense of community,”
the Emir stated. He applauded the foresight of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in championing cultural preservation and creative empowerment through initiatives like KANFEST. The Emir also reaffirmed the traditional institutions’ commitment to partnering with the government in sustaining events that celebrate Kano’s heritage.

Emir Sanusi encouraged artisans, youth, and investors to explore the economic potential within culture and tourism, noting that Kano has long been a beacon of creativity and enterprise in Africa.
